Jim Ross comments on the NXT Divas, and trainer Sara Del Rey

In his weekly blog following WWE NXT tapings, good ol’ Jim Ross had some comments on the NXT Divas division and of course how it reflects on their trainer female wrestling veteran Sara Del Rey.

Sarah Del Ray doing an excellent job working/coaching the Divas. IMO I was the best in ring Divas bouts Thursday night as I’ve seen in WWe in a while. Layla, Alicia Fox, Paige and newcomer Sasha did well.

Update on Kaitlyn’s Night of Champions “Injury”….

At Sunday’s Night of Champions there was a backstage segment where Kaitlyn was shown sitting on the ground. She was telling trainers that someone attacked her from behind but, she couldn’t see who it was. By coincidence Eve was standing near by talking to the Prime Time Players, and eventually followed medical staff to where she was at.

On Twitter Kaitlyn believed everything worked out too well for Eve, and on Backstage Fallout Layla believes that Eve probably had something to do with it.

According to WWE, Kaitlyn will be out “a couple of weeks” due to torn ligaments in her ankle.

It should be noted that Kaitlyn’s injury is a part of the current Diva storyline and when Kaitlyn is ‘cleared to return’ she will get another Divas Championship match according to Booker T in the backstage segment.

Rosa Mendes replaces Beth Phoenix on Australia tour…

Beth Phoenix, who is out due to a death in her family – was removed from WWE’s annual Australian tour where she was scheduled to face Divas Champion Layla.

Similar to what happened in Brazil, where Beth Phoenix filled in for Rosa Mendes to take on Kelly Kelly – there was a flip in scheduled matchs.

As you can tell from the title Rosa Mendes, who has been appearing as Epico and Primo’s manager recently filled in for the Glamazon to take on Divas Champion Layla. In a recent interview Mendes said she would love a Divas Championship reign, so I guess if there was any place to prove her worth it would be here… in Australia.

The 2 matchs in Brisbane and Sydney had mixed reviews (due to conflicting reports) but was said to be good with a few minor spots.

Divas segments CUT from broadcasts ???

Superstars broadcast on was suppose to feature Divas Champion Layla vs Natalya. With fans super pumped about their Champion and Divas in general being featured, they were ready to tune in…. only to be dissapointed. The Divas match was cut from the stream, leaving Diva fan’s matchless this past week.

Then if your a Rosa Mendes or Prime Time Player fan you were super stoked to find out that their was a backstage segment. Where Rosa’s photoshoot was interupted by the PTP’s – who attempted their own photoshoot.

When Diva fans tuned into Smackdown on SYFY…. they were once again dissapointed, as this segment was cut from broadcast as well.

BUT WWE added the cut Smackdown segment to as an Exclusive video.

> This is not the first time in the past weeks Divas have been cut, last weeks Superstars which featured Divas Champion Layla and US Champion Santino Marella vs Aksana and Antonio Cesaro was cut.  Also a rumored Kelly Kelly segment (not taped) was cut from the RAW 1000 broadcast schedule. The past week on WWE programming NO Divas had aired matches.

Michelle McCool at RAW 1000??

Fans at the St. Louis airport have claimed to see WWE Superstar Undertaker and his Wife former WWE Diva Michelle McCool.

It is unknown wheither McCool (multi time Womens and Divas Champion) will be appearing on air or if she is just visiting friends backstage

Michelle, was 1 half of the Diva duo LayCool – with current WWE Divas Champion Layla.

Fans are excited about the news and are hoping that if she appears on air, it will be some sort of LayCool reunion.

Top 11: PPV matchs of 2011

So theres been a lot of great Divas matches at ppvs…. BUT heres my top 11 of 2011 🙂

image #11 – It pains me to put such a ppv as Wrestlemania dead last…. but if you remember Snooki, Trish Stratus and John Morrison defeating LayCool and Ziggler you’d put it last as well. There were so many possible matchs but, WWE decided to once again drop all of that and place a celebrity in there. Michelle ended up taking a ‘Snooki splash’ & the match ended.

image #10 – TLC, there was no Divas match scheduled but we were all blessed with an impromtu Beth Phoenix vs Kelly Kelly for the Divas Championship. Kelly hit a Molly-Go-Round tribute for Molly Holly off the top rope but eventually was planted face first with the Glamslam. Beth Phoenix retained her Divas Championship.

image #9 – Over The Limit, Brie Bella vs Kelly Kelly for the Divas Championship. Twin magic once again prevailed as Nikki traded out and hit the Bella Buster for the win. Brie Bella retained her Divas Championship.

image #8 – Summerslam, The biggest party of the summer showed Kelly Kelly vs Beth Phoenix. This was the first of their many ppv battles in 2011. Beth went in as the odds on favorite but, Kelly was able to counter that with a rollup. Kelly Kelly retained her Divas Championship.

image #7 – Money in the Bank, Kelly Kelly vs Brie Bella. The newly crowned champion Kelly had to defend her title soon after she won it on a special ‘Power to the People RAW’. Nikki and Brie attempted twin magic but, it did not work as planned. Kelly Kelly retained her Divas Championship.

image #6 – Night of Champions, Beth Phoenix vs Kelly Kelly. When you hear New York & Beth Phoenix together you assume the obvious she was the odds on favorite to win. Lets go buffalo and Beth Phoenix chants rung throughout the arena. The standout moment in this match, Beth Phoenix did a top rope superplex… something that many Divas have not attempted. Kelly Kelly was able to once again rollup Phoenix and retain her Divas Championship.

image #5 Royal Rumble, a fatal 4 way for the Divas Championship- the reigning champion Natalya, LayCool and Eve Torres. If you wanted hard hitting action this was the ppv for you, it had everything from moonsaults to double sharpshooters. Contriversy happend when both Eve and Michelle had 3 counts on opposite sides of the ring, the ref who was facing Torres said she won. Michelle was not happy about it….well neither was Layla and Natalya (Eve was a added entant). Eve became the new Divas Champion.

image #4 Vengence, Beth Phoenix vs Eve Torres. After Beth defeated Kelly on multiple occasions, Eve decided to step up and brought the fight to Beth. Countering Glamslam after Glamslam, Eve was able to stick Beth in a triangle choke which brough the champ to her knees. One mistaken Moonsault cost Eve the match as Beth was able to pick her up, and plant her on the mat. Beth Pheonix retained her Divas Championship.

image #3 H.ll in a Cell, Kelly Kelly vs Beth Pheonix. This was Beth’s final shot at Kelly Kelly’s championship and she worked hard for it. Kelly was able to take advantage multiple times throughout, but it all came crashing down with one big Glamslam. Beth Phoenix became the new Divas Champion.

image #2 Survivor Series, Eve Torres vs Beth Phoenix in a lumber jill match. I honestly think this is a tie for the top spot, this match had everything – interaction with the lumberjills, power moves and submissions. The standout moment for this match was when Beth Pheonix climbed to the top of the ropes and planted a super Glamslam, the Divas and the crowd were left in shock and awe. Beth Pheonix retained her Divas Championship.

image #1 Extreme Rules, Layla vs Michelle McCool. This match is in the top spot for multiple reasons – it was a loser leaves WWE match and NO DQ. For multiple weeks prior to Extreme Rules, WWE showed LayCool spliting up – fighting, arguing, costing matchs. Each Diva kicked out of finisher after finisher, the crowd was into this feud from the fallout (Smackdown before ppv). During this match Michelle already had a injury to her foot, and Layla suffured a torn ACL/MCL. Layla ended up picking up the victory via rollup, but the emotion that spilled out of each Diva following the bell sound was something that hasn’t been matched yet. Michelle McCool’s final WWE match as a competing WWE Diva. Kharma’s music sounds and her she comes for her debut, laying out McCool with the Implant Buster. Extreme Rules wins the 2011 ppv lineup in my eyes.

Madusa wants 1 more match??

If you follow Madusa aka Alundra Blayze on Facebook or Twitter you’ll know she wants to face the Glamazon Beth Phoenix.

She has appeared at WWE shows tweeting about Phoenix’s performance, and even at one time offered to put the original Womens Championship (that she still has) on the line if Beth Phoenix was not afraid to face her.

She recently took to Twitter about wanting to return to WWE, for its 1000th episode of RAW. She tweeted multiple opponents that she’d like to face for 1 more match in the squared circle.

In response that she should face “The One Man Band” Heath Slater on the 1000th episode, she responded: “that’s some funny shit!”

She retweeted the following tweets: “MADUSA VS LAYLA ON 1,000TH RAW and MADUSA becomes a new divas champion” and “I’m going to be there LIVE and I’d mark out if she was there. Her vs Beth would be match of the night.”

She also implied on Twitter that she would also take a match with legendary Diva Trish Stratus. — It has not been confirmed if Madusa will be appearing on RAW1000.
